Visibility is usually excellent. Cades Reef, a five-mile shelf off Antigua's southwest corner, is Antigua's largest reef structure. It has 25 or more different dive and snorkeling sites that vary in depth from 20 ft to 90 ft. Examples are Lemon Ridge, with depths from 20 to 45 ft; The Chimney, home to huge pillar coral formations inhabited by margate, squirrelfish, nurse sharks, morays; and the The Pillars, at 50 to 80 ft, where you'll see queen angel fish, trigger fish, black durgons, spotted and green moray eels.

But, once they did, the idea of subsea exploration really caught on.
