First, the rain and wind slacken off, so much so that you’re pretty sure they’ll soon stop completely. . . the vegetation around you starts to look sort of odd. You’ve never been stranded on a jungle-covered desert island before, but still—these plants just plain don’t look right. You push through a dense bunch of leaves and discover a sort of pathway worn through the undergrowth. Paths mean people! You get so excited that you’re practically running along the narrow dirt track. . and that’s when you hear the weird grunting and snuffling from just ahead of you.
