So when Marigold asked if they could study together for the wish-granting exam, she hesitated. “Puh-lease,” Marigold pleaded. ” “All right,” Rose said at last. She would just have to practice invisibility later. Marigold hugged Rose. ” The two fairies sat on the lawn to study. Marigold had trouble remembering the answers even to simple questions—like how many wishes humans could have—so Rose made up some rhymes to help her.

Stop! ” yelled Bink. The fairies took off after the hobgoblin. He tore through the cottage and out the front door. The fairies followed him outside but soon lost sight of him.
