Finally, cooperation leads to a more cohesive team, which breeds enthusiasm. You must also have enthusiasm for the game of basketball itself. Part of having a winning attitude means always striving for more. To me, success is a mind-set. Visualize where you want to be, and then do whatever you have to do to get there. You can think the game by knowing your options on the court, by having the ability to see where players are, and by doing what you can to create situations within your team’s game plan. Thinking is knowing what’s going on (seeing what’s going on around you). This includes knowing how much time is on the clock—both the game clock and the shot clock. You may need to decide whether you should call a time-out. Was it a smart time-out to burn? Can you play with three fouls? It all comes down to what you do repeatedly.
You may want to make a certain move or pass. Now you need to have the proper fundamental skills to make it work.
